It turned out that the Earth Ever-crocodile Crocodile Filled Weird

New fossils found in the region is now the Sahara Desert used to express the area inhabited by half a dozen species, and possibly unusual cunning crocodile.

They gave interesting names for the new species, BoarCroc (crocodile, wild boar), RatCroc (crocodile-rat), DogCroc (crocodile-dog), DuckCroc (crocodile-duck) and PancakeCroc (crocodile-pancakes). The researchers said their findings help to understand how the shape of a crocodile was and managed to maintain such life forms.

Species that lived during the Cretaceous period, 145 million to 65 million years ago, when all the continents closer together and the world warmer and wetter than present conditions. "We were surprised to find so many species from the same period in the same place," says paleontologist Hans Larsson of McGill University in Montreal, which did the study, as quoted by Reuters.

"Each of these crocodiles have different foods, different attitude. It seems all that has divided animal ecosystem, each species use in its own way," he said.

Larsson and Paul Sereno of the University of Chicago is funded by the National Geographic study the jaws, teeth, and some crocodile bones they found. They also do a CT, X-rays which are enhanced by computer, to see the inside of the animal's skull. Two species, DogCroc and DuckCroc have a brain that looks different from modern crocodiles.

"All of these species may have brain function more sophisticated than the crocodile who now lives as an active hunting on land that requires energy is usually larger brains than merely waiting for the victim appear," Larsson said in a statement.

RatCroc, a new species formally named Ararripesuchus rattoides, found in Morocco and allegedly has used his lower jaw to tear food. Pancake-Croc, which is scientifically known as Laganosuchus thaumastos, 20 feet long and a flat head and large.

DuckCroc is a new fossil found in Niger from the family once known species with a minor Anastosuchus. Animals are thought to have eaten maggot and frogs with a wide muzzle.

Meanwhile BoarCroc too long but 20 foot tall stature and has jaws that are used for chopping the victim, with three pairs of teeth like knives. Some species walked upright with your legs under their body such as land animals and not crouch, with the belly touching the ground.

"Talent amphibian their past may be key to understanding how they triumphed," wrote Sereno in a separate article for National Geographic.
